The Bison Shot

I didn’t want the usual bison photo.

That morning in Lamar Valley, Yellowstone gave me a gift — a bison wandered close enough that I could see more than just its size. I saw texture. History. Soul.

This isn’t a photo of action or grandeur. It’s intimate. Quiet. Focused entirely on the eye — the window into something ancient and untamed. I wanted to make something different. Not a postcard, but a portrait. This is one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. Because it makes you stop. Because it makes you feel.

I’m offering it as a limited edition framed print. If you want to own a piece of the wild — not just scenery, but presence — this one’s for you.
